Shrimp Pancit Recipe

I love cooking quick and simple Asian recipes, and one of those recipes is Filipino shrimp pancit. Pancit refers to noodles, and is derived from the Chinese Hokkien word “pian i sit”, which translates to “convenient food”. Chinese immigrants settling in the Philippines introduced noodles into the Filipino cuisine! Wherever the Chinese have been, you will find at least one noodle dish that is part of a culture’s cuisine. Super interesting!

Filipino households serve pancit during birthday and specials occasions to symbolize long life. Different versions of pancit include pancit bihon (rice noodles), pancit canton (wheat flour noodles) and pancit sotanghon (cellophane noodles). Whatever your preference, cook the noodles you like to eat the most!

This shrimp pancit recipe consists of cellophane noodles, carrots, green beans cabbage, soy sauce and fish sauce. Check out my other Filipino recipes: Pork Adobo and Turon. You’ll love these recipes!
