Poh pia tod is Thai egg rolls! My recipe is simple and consists of ground pork, egg, carrots, onions, oyster sauce, and soy sauce.

Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: Asian
Keyword: poh pia tod
Servings: 5 people
Ingredients
  • egg roll wrappers
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, mix together ground pork, 1 egg, carrots, onions, oyster sauce and soy sauce

  2. Whisk 1 egg. Take the whisked egg and spread on edges of the egg roll wrapper

  3. Place a small portion of meat on the wrapper and fold into an envelope shape

  4. Add vegetable oil into a pot until the oil is 1.5 to 2 inches deep or enough for egg rolls to submerge into the oil

  5. Heat oil until the temperature reaches 375 ° F. With a wooden utensil, dip it in the oil. If oil bubbles around the wood, the oil is ready for frying.

  6. Add in egg rolls and fry until golden brown

  7. Remove the egg rolls and serve!
